John is Chairman of Sail Training Association of Bermuda and is Chairman Emeritus of the Tall Ships Bermuda 2017 event.  He was a Director of the very successful Sail Training International (STI) Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009 and is the country representative for Bermuda on the STI International Council.  He is a founding member of The Sail Training Association of Bermuda (STA Bermuda).

A Bermudian, John is a passionate sailor and supporter of sail training, having started his deep water passage and racing career in 1970.  He was educated in Bermuda, Scotland and the USA.  John is a graduate of Boston University and has lived and worked in the Boston area.

In June 2010, John was recognized by Her Majesty the Queen in her 2010 Birthday Honours List for service to the community, in particular Sail Training.

Beverley has been actively involved in the planning of Tall Ships events in Bermuda for many years.  She served on the planning and media committees for the Tall Ships Race 2000 and was the Director Media & Public Relations for the Host Port of Bermdua during Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009.  She remains in this role for Tall Ships Bermuda 2017.

Beverley began her career as a journalist with the Royal Gazette and Mid-Ocean News. After more than 35 years of service, she has recently retired from the Bermuda Government where she served as Assistant Director of Communications and Information and more recently as Acting Director of Archives.  Skilled in management, communications, public relations and speech writing, she has also served as the Bermuda Government Media Coordinator for Royal and VIP visits.

A Bermudian, Beverley was educated in Bermuda, the USA and the UK and has a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communications.

Ralph Richardson has always been passionate about his island home of Bermuda and the ocean which brings her life. Besides being an Ambassador for the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, he serves on several non-profit boards, including the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, the Sea Education Association (Woods Hole, Massachusetts) and is Chairman of the Bermuda Water Safety Council. 
Ralph is Owner of Winsome Tours and Consulting Limited, the Executive Director of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust and a former Commodore of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.  He is an accomplished ocean navigator having participated in several yacht races between the East Coast of the United States and Bermuda. Ralph is the author of the local best seller, “The Bermuda Boater,” a navigational textbook (3rd edition launched March 2016).  He has taught navigation at the Bermuda College and the Warwick Community Education School.

A Bermudian husband and father, Ralph earned his Master of Science Degree in International Management from the University of Liverpool.

Brian is President and a Director of the World Match Racing Association, having also served as Treasurer.  He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, after previously having served in several poitions, including Commodore.  

Brian was the Bermuda Chairman for Tall Ships 2000 and is a past Director of the Bermuda Sloop Foundation.  He is also the owner/captain of Oyster Point Yacht Charters Ltd.

Cindy Campbell has served on many non-profit boards and volunteered or organized multiple community events.  Cindy has been involved in Tall Ships since 2000 when she served as a Liaison Officer and in 2009 when she was Deputy Chief Liaison Officer with her husband Ron.  She is notably remembered for the American Societies 4th of July Celebrations “Celebrating Freedom – Giving Back to Bermuda” when she co-chaired the event with the US Consul General.  Over three events, each which catered to approximately 6,000 people, the American Society distributed over $300,000 to the various charities who volunteered to help man activities during the celebration.

A Bermudian, Cindy was educated in the United States and holds an MBA and CPA.  She is currently the Executive Vice President Strategic Development for the Argus Group.


Ron Campbell

Ron Campbell first became involved with sail training as a proud parent when his son Collin participated in the Nova Scotia Sea School, and as a 16 year old watch leader for two blue water voyages and Tall Ships Festivals with Spirit of Bermuda.  Formerly in the world of Opera and Music Theatre, Ron is well versed in producing “a really big show” – so Tall Ships events are a natural fit for his talents.

A Bermudian-American, Ron attended university and graduate school in the USA, and currently works in Captive Insurance and Insurance Linked Securities for Willis Towers Watson.
